Winter weather has returned to the Miami Valley with temperatures expected to plunge into the teens Saturday and Sunday morning.

It will feel even colder though as gusty winds send wind chill readings into the single digits at times for some of the area. Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Eric Elwell is monitoring two storms that will tracking through the region over the weekend into early next week. While the first system is expected to miss the Miami Valley well to the south, the second system will be more of a threat, Elwell said.
"The latest models are still in disagreement about the track of the early week storm system," Elwell said, "but it is appearing more and more likely that at least some accumulating snow will be possible in parts of the Miami Valley by the end of the day Tuesday."

The storm system, an "Alberta Clipper," is expected to track from Canada into the Ohio Valley on Monday and then move toward the East Coast on Tuesday. A swath of accumulating snow is expected along and just north of the storm track with several inches of snow possible.
It likely will be late Saturday, once the storm system comes on shore in the Pacific Northwest, before the models get a good handle on where the storm is headed and how strong it will be, Elwell said.
