SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man accused of cutting his wife’s throat pleaded guilty to attempted murder in a Clark County courtroom today.

Raymond Roberts, 42, was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
After she was stabbed, his wife drove herself to a gas station and mini mart on U.S. 68, according to deputies.
As a result of his plea, two counts of felonious assault were dropped.
Roberts reportedly attacked his wife in September, slitting her throat at their Quwood Road home.

Roberts followed her and rammed her car before fleeing the scene.
The victim was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.

A state-wide search was launched for Roberts capture and he was arrested near his home a few days later.
