Thursday afternoon at around noon a graffiti message was discovered on the wall of a boys bathroom at Springboro Junior High School, according to a Springboro Community Schools spokesperson. The students who found the message immediately brought it to the attention of school staff who determined that it was not detailed or credible.
The school day proceeded as normal and this message did not interrupt classes or schedules. When the graffiti was discovered school officials preformed a sweep of the building to ensure safety.
All staff were notified to be observant and school officials said there is currently no cause for concern. The school administration issued the following statement:
“As a reminder, the discovery of a written threat in our schools is taken very seriously, as the safety of our students and staff and our school buildings are our single highest priorities. It is important that students understand the consequences of making a threat. When we determine who is responsible, the student will receive a 10-day suspension with a recommendation for expulsion. The student(s) will be persecuted to the full extent of the law.”
