DAYTON — Sinclair Community College will close all locations later this afternoon to observe Juneteenth as a federal holiday.
Classes, activities, and other operations will be held up until 1:00 p.m according to Sinclair’s website.
A virtual event will be held featuring guest speakers, and nationally recognized expert, Eddie S. Glaude Jr.
Glaude will discuss the importance of Juneteenth.

“In keeping with Sinclair’s historical role as a cultural and community convener, our college will celebrate Juneteenth together with a remarkable event,” as stated on their website.
650 people, 25 institutions of higher education, and 40 community and business organizations have signed up to attend the event.
Sinclair says the event is the “largest Juneteenth celebration and recognition in the Miami Valley.”
