Man critically wounded in Dayton shooting

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 2:52 p.m. (Oct. 23)

A 25-year-old man remains a patient at Miami Valley Hospital after he was shot multiple times in Dayton early Saturday morning.

Police responded shortly after 3 a.m. and found the victim lying in the street in the 300 block of Nassau Street; he was conscious and breathing but not moving, according to the Dayton police report.

Hospital staff told police the man’s injuries were critical, but not life-threatening, according to the report.

Police said the victim was able to tell officers his name and birthdate, but refused to say what happened.

A neighbor told officers there was an argument followed by gunfire. Several people standing outside told police they didn’t see anything.

Today, the victim is listed as a patient at Miami Valley Hospital, but his condition is not being released.

EARLIER (Oct. 22)

The victim of a shooting in Dayton has been taken to an area hospital, according to dispatchers.

Crews were dispactched to the area of Nassau and Andrews Streets around 3:01 a.m. Saturday morning.

Dispatchers said one person has been taken to the hospital in an unknown condition.
