‘She has faithfully served;’ Washington Twp. Administrator submits resignation letter

WASHINGTON TWP — Washington Township Administrator Jesse Lightle announced her intent to resign effective January 15, 2023.

Lightle will resign her current position to become Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for Sinclair Community College starting January 16, 2023.

She has been Township Administrator since July 2006, serving her community for 16 years.

Under her leadership, Washington Township experienced the largest residential growth in Montgomery County over the past decade, a spokesperson stated in a press release.

She focused on financial responsibility, infrastructure improvement, and planning and economic development, the spokesperson said, Her focus helped successfully pass 14 levies for fire and police departments among others.

Lightle has also “strengthened Washington Township’s position on a regional, state, and national level” as a current board of trustees member for the Dayton Development Coalition and a commissioner for the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, the spokesperson said.

As commissioner, she navigated three successful cycles of accreditation for the fire department.

Washington Township Fire Station 41 and Joyce C. Young Center were also built with her advocacy and supervision.

In her resignation letter, Lightle commended her staff stating, “Their level of professionalism, leadership, cooperation, and dedication far exceeds expectations. Further, all our employees are dedicated to providing the absolute best services each and every day to our residents.”

She also thanked elected officials for “the opportunity to have served you and this community.”

“We are so grateful for Jesse’s many contributions to our community... We will miss her, and we wish her all the very best at Sinclair,” Trustee President Sharon Lowry said.
