Dump truck entangled in phone lines near Dayton fire station

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 7:50 a.m.: 

Multiple tow trucks have arrived and are working to determine the best way to remove a dump truck that’s entangled in phone lines on South Broadway Street in Dayton.

Crews from DP&L have been requested to shut down electricity to the lines that are above the phone lines, according to officials at the scene.

South Broadway Street remains blocked in both directions just south of West Stewart Street.

Emergency crews are responding to South Broadway Street after a dump truck struck phone lines in a crash this morning.

Initial reports indicate the truck, whose back wheels and trailer bed are up in the air, hit phone lines in front of a fire station in the 1200 block around 6:15 a.m.

Dayton Power and Light personnel were requested to the scene.
