UPDATE: Linden Ave reopened after Semi rollover crash blocked portion of road

RIVERSIDE — A mechanical issue with a semitrailer’s brakes has been blamed for a crash that caused the vehicle to overturn and slam into a utility pole in Riverside Friday morning.

The crash was reported on Linden Avenue at the exit from U.S. 35 around 9 a.m.

An initial investigation found the semi was exiting onto Linden Avenue from U.S. 35 when the truck had a brake issue, causing it to overturn and hit a street light and utility pole, according to Riverside police.

The driver was able to get out of the wreckage but was injured in the crash. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver will face a citation of failure to control due to the crash, police said.

Linden Avenue has been reopened after the scene cleared.

Additional details were not released.
