Semi drops load of soybeans, causes several crashes near Dayton airport

BUTLER TWP. — A semi lost an entire load of soybeans, causing six crashes on Old Springfield Road in Butler Twp. Thursday morning.

Multiple emergency crews responded to Old Springfield Road east of Dog Leg Road around 6:40 a.m. on initial reports of a rollover crash.

Investigators said a semi traveling on Dog Leg Road started to lose a load of soybeans, and continued on to Old Springfield Road. The soybeans created slick conditions on the road, causing multiple crashes and slide-offs on Old Springfield Road.

One of six vehicles involved ended up on its top after the crash.

No injuries have been reported.

The load of soybeans was estimated to be worth around $20,000 according to officials at the scene.
