Death investigation underway after man’s body found near Clark County railroad crossing

SPRINGFIELD TWP. — UPDATE @ 10:15 a.m.:

Deputies are investigating the death of a man found near a Clark County railroad crossing, however investigators said the man was not hit by a train.

The cause of the man’s death will be determined by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, however deputies said they have not ruled out a medical issue as a possible cause of his death.

The man’s identity has not been released, pending notification of family.

FIRST REPORT

A death investigation is reportedly underway after a body was found near a railroad crossing in Springfield Twp., Clark County, according to initial reports.

Deputies were requested to the area of Old Mill Road between Lower Valley Pike and state Route 4 around 9 a.m. after a railroad employee reported finding a body near the train tracks, emergency scanner traffic indicates.
