DAYTON — UPDATE @ 3:11 p.m.
Leroy Green, 53, has been jailed in Montgomery County on a charge of aggravated robbery in this incident at Key Bank, according to the Dayton police report.
The suspect reportedly asked the female teller if he could “hold her hand,” according to the police report. When she said no, he pulled out a “kitchen-style knife” and demanded his money.
Green ran away and police caught up with him in the area of North Wilkinson and West Monument streets. He still had the knife with him, police said.

A man suspected of attempting to rob the Key Bank location in downtown Dayton has been taken into custody, according to Dayton police.
Initial reports indicate the suspect displayed a butcher knife and attempted to take cash from the bank, before fleeing on foot.
The suspect was located and arrested a few blocks away from the bank.
Additional details were not immediately available.

Our crew on the scene reports one person has been detained in the back of a police cruiser following an attempted bank robbery at the Key Bank in downtown Dayton Monday.
Police did not confirm if the person detained was the robbery suspect. However, police scanner traffic indicated a person matching the suspect’s description was located a few blocks away.

Officers were dispatched to the location at 10 West Second Street around 10:35 a.m. after the robbery was reported.
Initial reports indicate the suspect displayed a butcher knife, but it wasn’t immediately known if anything was taken from the bank.
