Report: Employees forced into freezer during Dayton restaurant robbery

UPDATE @ 5:30 a.m. 

In addition to a deposit bag with money from the safe, the suspect got away with the wallets of two employees and a manager who were inside Rally’s at the time of the robbery, according to the recorded 911 call.

The employee who called 911 reported the sole suspect displayed a silver and brown handgun, but no shots were fired.

No injuries were reported.

Dayton police are investigating after an armed robbery was reported at the Rally’s restaurant early Thursday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the restaurant at 1205 North Gettysburg Avenue around 3:50 a.m. after employees reported the robbery.

Initial reports indicate the employees were forced into a freezer before they called police for help.

The suspect reportedly made off with a deposit bag from the restaurant’s safe.
