Charles Romine, who was blind and had cataracts, had not been heard from since Monday. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirmed the recovered body is Romine.
Romine’s grandson, Darshawn Romine, said that the news of his grandfather’s discovery is “hurtful, because there was not enough awareness of his whereabouts.”
Information police had Tuesday, from the family, was that the man was lost, Sgt. John Riegel said, "and that's why police were looking for him."
The endangered missing adult alert was issued for Romine earlier Wednesday.

A police officer who had driven onto the bridge from Riverview to North James H. McGee Boulevard called regional dispatch after reportedly seeing something in the water, according to officials.
Crews were dispatched to the water recovery at Wolf Creek in the area of West Riverview Avenue and Philadelphia Drive around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. After searching bushes and all along the riverbank, an officer made the discovery.
"I don't know how long he's been in the water," Riegel said, noting that the cause of death right now is not known.
Police have been working all day with the family of Charles Romine.
“He was family oriented and loved his children and grandchildren. Everyone that knew him, loved him”, said Romine’s grandson.
Sgt. Riegel said he had no information to indicate that the man took his own life.
