Public works explains new Dayton plowing policy

We’re talking with the city of Dayton and its public works director, Fred Stovall, about the change in the city’s policy when it comes to plowing roads.

This year the city of Dayton changed its policy, so that plow drivers will salt and plow side streets if the city has four or more inches of snow.

The previous two years the city has not plowed or salted side streets at all.

News Center 7’s John Bedell is talking to Stovall about how the change is being received by people in the city, because the city still has not had to plow or salt side streets this winter. That’s because conditions have been to mild and not enough snow has fallen to trigger the new policy.
