One in hospital after crash into pole near Yorkshire in Darke County

YORKSHIRE, DARKE COUNTY — One man is in the hospital in unknown condition after a crash in the 13400 block of Reed Road, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, the sheriff’s office said that at around 1:47 a.m., deputies and crews from the Osgood Fire and Rescue responded to that area for a reported crash with injuries.

Dispatchers said that crews on the scene were trying to request a medical helicopter respond to the scene, but that crews like CareFlight and MedFlight were not flying tonight due to weather.

After investigating, they found that Steve Gehret, 52, of Houston, was driving a 2010 Honda Civic south on Reed Road and went off the right side of the road, crashing into a utility pole.
