A woman was arrested Friday after Dayton police say she passed out in a restaurant bathroom and was holding illegal prescription drugs.
Melissa L. Wendling, 42, was taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession.
Officers were called to Taco Bell, 1000 Brown St., at about 2:30 p.m. on reports that a woman had passed out in the restaurant's bathroom.
A Dayton Police Department report says Wendling was "very lethargic" when they arrived. Upon trying to talk to her, officers could not make sense of what she was saying.
Officers say they found an unmarked bottle of prescription pills on Wendling's person. When asked about them, she replied, "That's my Xanax."
Investigators say the pills inside the bottle came from various companies, based on their identification markings — because Wendling was unable to verify the pills were prescribed to her, she was arrested.
As of Saturday, she was being held at Montgomery County Jail on one potential charge of misdemeanor drug possession.
