Delivery driver robbed at gunpoint outside Springfield pharmacy

SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @ 10:45 a.m.: 

A delivery driver was robbed of cash at gunpoint outside a Springfield pharmacy Friday morning, according to an employee.

SPRINGFIELD BUREAU: Firefighters battle fully engulfed house fire in Moorefield Twp.

The robbery was reported around 9 a.m. at the Whitacre Pharmacy at 1574 Lagonda Avenue.

A gun was displayed during the robbery but no injuries were reported.

Robberies of the delivery drivers have happened multiple times before at the pharmacy location, according to the employee.

Police are investigating reports of an armed robbery at a Springfield pharmacy Friday morning.

The robbery was reported around 9 a.m. at the Whitacre Pharmacy at 1574 Lagonda Avenue, according to initial reports.

Dispatchers said additional details were unclear but reports indicated a delivery driver delivering prescription drugs was robbed at gunpoint.

No injuries have been reported.
