Police: Dayton murder suspect captured by U.S. Marshals in Columbus

DAYTON — A man who was indicted last week on murder and other charges for a deadly shooting earlier this month has been captured and is in custody, according to Dayton police.

Karlton Jones, 24, was located and arrested in Columbus by the U.S. Marshals SOFAST Task Force, a Dayton police spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

Jones had an active warrant for his arrest connected to the deadly shooting of Chendo “BJ” Buford Jr. March 2 on Northcrest Drive.

Jones was indicted on charges of murder and felonious assault by a Montgomery County Grand Jury last week.

He has not yet been booked into the Montgomery County Jail. His arraignment is scheduled for April 2.
