Piqua man, 21, remains jailed on $250K bail in rape case involving a child

UPDATE @ 6:10 p.m. (Nov. 13): A Piqua man remains jailed on $250,000 bail on a charge accusing him of rape involving a child younger than 13.

Dylan Cost, now 21, pleaded not guilty Monday in Miami County Common Pleas Court. If convicted as charged, Cost could be sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to the court.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Nov. 21.

INITIAL REPORT (Aug. 2)

A Piqua man accused of child rape remains in the Miami County Jail following his arraignment this morning.

Dylan Ray Cost, 19, was arraigned on two counts of rape of a child younger than 13. His bond was set at $500,000 during his arraignment in Miami County Municipal Court.

Officials said the accusations involved the same child and were alleged to have happened recently.

Cost next is scheduled to appear Aug. 9 in court.
