Light rain has worked its way into northern Miami Valley, but should taper off from west to east around midnight or early morning, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.
Overnight temperatures will drop to about 60 in the morning with a dry start to the day. While Saturday looks to be fairly cloudy, the chance for additional rain should be limited to a few light passing showers.
"The treat of any thunder and lightning looks next to nothing. In fact, the rain coming so much earlier than first thought is actually a good thing overall for tomorrow and Sunday as the bum of the moisture that can produce rain will already be by us," Simpson said.
Sunday should feature a bit more sun, and temperatures should eclipse 80 degrees, Simpson said.
Due to the clouds, Saturday's afternoon high is back into the upper 70s.
"While a shower can't be ruled out Sunday, rain chances are low," he said. "As the warmth and humidity build early next week, we have additional chances for showers and storms."
A few pop-up storms are possible Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s.
Storms look likely by Wednesday evening, if not in the afternoon, Simpson said.
