Federal inspectors find unsafe conditions at Dollar General stores, including Kettering

KETTERING — Department of Labor safety inspectors found unsafe conditions at Dollar General stores including one in Kettering.

Nine inspections were conducted in late 2022 and found store workers in four states were exposed to obstructed exits, fire, and electrical hazards, according to an OSHA spokesperson.

The agency said it issued three repeat citations to the store.

OHSA inspectors found at the Kettering Dollar General store exit routes, fire extinguishers, and electrical panels blocked by merchandise and other materials in November 2022.

The Kettering store was ordered to pay almost $300,000 in penalties for the violations.

Overall, the violations will cost the company over $3 million.

OSHA also inspected Dollar General stores in Maine, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
