The Ohio Inspector General has issued a report of investigation today finding the Miami Valley Juvenile Rehabilitation Center violated grant terms, including payroll abuse.
According to a release, the Miami Valley Juvenile Rehabilitation Center paid employees who were not working or failed to reduce accumulated leave-time balances for employees who were being paid while on leave of absense.
The juvenile rehabilitation center is located in Xenia.
An audit performed by the Ohio Department of Youth Services showed a continuing, wide-spread pattern of payroll abuses, which had previously been brought to the attention of managers after earlier audits revealed the issue, according to a release.
Employees said the former superintendent allowed employees to leave early as a form of incentive pay.
