ENGLEWOOD — An Englewood apartment building was damaged after a driver crashed their car into the front of a unit, according to police.

The crash happened at the Gateway Village apartment complex on North Union Boulevard near Old Salem Road around 6:50 a.m., dispatchers for Englewood police confirmed to News Center 7.
A driver who was trying to get out of a parking spot slammed into the structure, an Englewood police spokesperson said. The crash caused significant structural damage to the apartment, displacing bricks and exposing insulation from inside the structure.
The driver was not injured, nor was the person inside the apartment when the crash happened.
