Multiple Darke Co. fire departments fight two-alarm barn fire

DARKE COUNTY — Multiple fire departments throughout Darke County responded to a two-alarm barn fire Friday overnight.

Fire departments from Gettysburg, Bradford, the city of Greenville, Greenville Township, Versailles, and Pitsburg were dispatched to the 7200 block of Gettysburg Webster Road at 4:34 a.m. on reports of a barn fire, the county’s dispatch said.

When firefighters from Gettysburg and Bradford arrived on the scene, they found a barn engulfed in flames and requiring mutual aid from surrounding fire stations, dispatch informed. As a result, additional help was requested from the aforementioned cities and townships.

There were no reported injuries, dispatch said. The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
