The plot of land lies between 235 and 2929 Enon Road. — The Village of Enon and Mad River Township has announced they have purchased more than 60 acres of land to develop to a multi-purpose sports complex and public park.
The plot of land lies between 235 Enon Road and 2929 Enon Road.
Enon Village Council President Rick Hanna said right now the possibilities are limitless, money is the only thing that would restrict the development.
More recreational space is one of the biggest things he said they’ve heard from people living in Enon.
“I mean they need places other than just a little park. They need places to take the dogs, they need stuff like that for the kids to keep them off the streets,” Enon resident Amanda Nunnery said.

The vision for this land is anything but small.
“We want this to be a top-class facility where we’ll be able to have things similar to the Creek Classic, or similar to what Huber Heights has in terms of soccer,” Hanna said.
Enon Mayer Tim Howard said the city’s water supply is one of the most important things crews have had to keep in mind about this plan.
“Our well fields are directly behind the railroad tracks there. Should there be a subdivision or anything like that there could be problems with that,” Howard said.
The land was purchased for a total of $542,131, costing each entity $270,533 according to a release.
The complex is still a couple of years away before it will be ready to open.
