“I’m honored to have been chosen to help guide CCAO’s leadership as we work to build stronger counties for a stronger Ohio,” Lieberman said in a statement.

Lieberman will lead the CCAO’s efforts to enhance the partnership between state and county. Additionally, she will lead the association to achieve policy goals like providing addition state support for county jail enhancements, protecting county revenue streams and relieving some of the unfunded state mandates on Ohio’s 88 counties.

This marks Lieberman’s second term at CCAO President. She previously served as president in 2012. She also served as vice president in 2021.

“Commissioner Lieberman has been an integral part of CCAO’s leadership for many years, and I am excited to continue our work together as she takes on this new role,” Cheryl Subler, CCAO Executive Director, said. “Her knowledge, experience and leadership will be pivotal as CCAO continues to strengthen the vital state-county partnership.”

Lieberman has been a Montgomery County Commissioner since 2005.
