Montgomery County breaks residential real estate sales record in 2021

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Montgomery County has broken its record for valid residential real estate sales in 2021.

According to a release, Montgomery County Auditor Karl Keith said the county recorded more than 11,725 valid residential real estate sales through the end of November. The number was a nearly 29 percent increase from last year.

The previous record of 9,219 was set in 2018.

“This is the most active real estate market I’ve seen in my 21-year tenure as county auditor,” Keith said.

Real estate construction also increased this year, according to a release. Montgomery County had $255.5 million in new construction in 2021. $120.9 million of that was in new residential construction.
