Students taking an entrepreneurial class at Miamisburg High School got to see how a business works up close when they got an in-person lesson from the owners of Rolling Indulgence, a Dayton-based food truck, that competed on Season 10 of the Food Network’s cooking series, “The Great Food Truck Race.”
Betsy Newman’s business class has spent the semester relating topics from their textbook to episodes of the Food Network show, which features food trucks from across the country competing for a chance to win $50,000.
Newman asked Drew Ballard, owner of Rolling Indulgence, to speak with her class after seeing the team compete on Season 10, where they finished in third place.

“They get some real honest answers about what they have to do and focus on, and what they have to look at and all of the things involved with running a food truck or a business,” Newman.
Students said it was beneficial to learn first-hand about businesses skills and learning how to attract customers.
“It gives us more [of an] in-person point of view on how they did it,” Tanner Bradley, Miamisburg junior said.
Ballard was happy to share advice, tips and food with the students.
“This is our dream as a family. To do this and share it with future generations and people who might want to do something like this is awesome,” Ballard said.
