168 days into the pandemic, preschool students in Centerville found a way to care for those who typically care for others.
“The students made cards just thanking the community helpers and the nurses for all the hard work that they’re doing and the long hours that they’re working,” Kelly Ely, The Goddard School of Centerville director said.
She stopped by Sycamore Medical Center to drop off the cards, balloons, and suncatchers.
The delivery came just a week after Ohio hit a record number of new Covid hospitalizations, seven months into the pandemic.
“Every day a lot of our frontline workers are coming in to take care of our community, during a very difficult time,” Luis Chanaga, Sycamore Medical Center’s president said.
The cards contained messages like “you lift up and brighten days” and “thank you for everything you do.”
“For the school, it really brings joy to us,” Ely said.
