MIAIMI VALLEY — A tremendous night of honoring WHIO-TV’s McCall Vrydaghs life-saving weather forecasts and community service, as the three-state Ohio Valley Regional EMMY awards honored Vrydaghs with Best Weather Anchor.
In addition, Vrydaghs along with the News Center 7 special projects team of executive producer Matthew Simon and photojournalist Michael Burianek were honored for an in-depth news story examining those still recovering one year after the 2019 Memorial Day Tornado outbreak.
In addition to WHIO’s two regional EMMY wins, station staff, including Cheryl McHenry, John Bedell, executive producer Emily Gay and producer Serenity McKenzie also received nominations, including:
