DAYTON — The Dayton Marriott on South Patterson Boulevard has notified the state of its plans to layoff 117 employees beginning next month.
The employees include both full and part-time workers.

“This layoff is due to the significant financial impact on the travel and tourism industry caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic,” Marriott said in a notice to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
The layoffs include housekeepers, cooks, banquet workers, restaurant workers and other positions.
The layoffs are expected to begin Sept. 18 and the company is in the process of notifying all the workers impacted, according to the notice.
