UNION CITY — A man is dead after a fire in Union City early Wednesday.
Around 3:20 a.m. Union City crews were called to an address on Greenville Pike to reports of a fire with someone possibly trapped inside the home.
When fire crews arrived on the scene they found the house engulfed in flames, according to a media release.
Due to the intensity of the fire, crews could not enter the home and had to try and contain the fire from the outside.

After the fire was extinguished crews entered the home to find a man approximately 60 years old dead. The man was around five feet away from a doorway.
Because of burn injuries, crews said DNA and dental records will be needed to identify the man.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by local fire officials and the Indiana State Fire Marshal but no foul play is expected, according to a release.
