Man shot in leg near Deerborn Market in Dayton

A man called 911 Sunday to report that his friend was shot in the leg.

“My friend has been shot,” the caller said frantically to dispatch. “The dude just came up and started shooting. We don’t know what’s going on.”

Police responded around 12:25 p.m. to Deerborn and McCabe avenues near Deerborn Market in Dayton.

Dispatch advised the caller to put pressure on his friend’s wound until medics arrived.

The suspect fled the scene, according to dispatch records, but no description was provided.

Police on scene were unable to provide further information.

The man was reportedly shot in the leg once and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police on scene.
