Dayton shooting victim dies from injuries, coroner’s office IDs victim

A Dayton man was shot to death inside a car late Sunday night on North Garland Avenue in the city.

Shawn Reuber, 42, was identified as the victim, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Police responded to the 100 block of North Garland Avenue and found a man, later identified as Reuber, slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Dayton police Sgt. Joseph Setty said a woman identified as a person of interest was found a few blocks away with a handgun.

The woman’s name was not released, and it was not clear whether she will be charged in connection to Reuber’s death.

The cause and manner of Reuber’s death was not immediately available from the coroner’s office.
