Authorities are not sure what the source of a loud ‘boom’ was that triggered numerous calls into the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Sidney police.
Reports started to come into our newsroom around 11 p.m. Saturday when several people stated a loud ‘boom’ was heard in several parts of Shelby County.
Shelby County Sheriff Deputy Frank Bly said calls were centered in the southeast portion of the county and into the city of Sidney.
Bly said several deputies checked in the areas of the calls but the source was never found and no damage has been reported or discovered.
A Sidney Police dispatcher said officers also responded in the city limits to calls of the noise, but nothing was discovered in the city.
