At least 1 person hospitalized following accident in Vandalia

At least one person is in the hospital following a crash in Vandalia late Sunday afternoon, according to Vandalia police.

Crews were dispatched to the 4300 block of Little York Road around 5:43 p.m.

Video from the scene shows at least two vehicles involved and both sustained front end damage.

At least one person has been transported to the hospital with unknown injuries, dispatchers confirm to News Center 7.

Traffic was also blocked near the tunnel on Little York Road and Johnson State S Cassel Road.

Police, medics and fire crews from the City of Vandalia responded to the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
