Homeland Security investigation underway at Springfield house

SPRINGFIELD — Homeland Security Investigations special agents served a sealed search warrant at a home on Kenton Street Wednesday morning.

“Because documents are under seal in federal court, no further details will be released at this time,” said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokesman Khaalid Walls.

News Center 7 spotted several agents and a box truck at the residence around 9:10 a.m.

Walls said the search warrant is part of an ongoing criminal probe.

Several people also were sitting on the porch of the duplex, however News Center 7 crews did not see anyone in custody.
