Lanes reopen after injury rollover crash, fuel spill on I-75 SB in West Carrollton

WEST CARROLLTON — UPDATE @ 5 p.m.:

One person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash on I-75 in West Carrollton Friday.

Around 3 p.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol and West Carrollton Police and Medics were called to a crash on I-75 southbound near East Dixie Drive.

An initial investigation indicates that a semi and a van were slowing for traffic when the semi was unable to stop in time and tried to swerve to the right resulting in it jackknifing, according to a spokesperson for Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The semi then hit the reach of a van pushing it into the rear of a car before the van overturned.

Some diesel fuel leaked onto the roadway, causing the southbound lanes to be shut down, most lanes were opened around 5:20 p.m.

One person was taken from the scene to the hospital with minor injuries, according to OSP.
