The pursuit began shortly after a woman called 911 and said her soon-to-be ex-husband threatened her, that he wouldn’t let her leave or get ready for work. She said that her husband told her they’d both die if she left.
Damron was arrested after the crash on Endicott Road Wednesday around 3 a.m.
The 53-year-old was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he remained in good condition Thursday morning.
While responding to the call, police spotted Damron’s SUV and he sped off with officers in pursuit.
After the crash, police surrounded Damron’s vehicle with their guns drawn.
Officers recovered two guns from the vehicle, according to emergency dispatch records.
