Harrison Twp. man indicted in connection to murder of 59-year-old Huber Heights man

HUBER HEIGHTS — A 22-year-old Harrison Township man has been indicted on counts in connection to the stabbing death of a 59-year-old Huber Heights man inside his Tilbury Road home last month.

Barry Pence II was indicted on two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, two counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence, according to Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr.

Officers responded to the 4900 block of Tilbury around 4 p.m. and discovered James Woolard on Sept. 20 dead from multiple stab wounds, police said.

A 911 caller told police she believed Woolard may have killed himself, however police described the case as suspicious and then classified it as a homicide case late that night after obtaining a search warrant for the home, according to Sgt. Brian Carr with Huber Heights Police.

Pence is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 8:30 a.m.
