Gunman, said to be wearing socks over his hands, robs Greenville bank branch

The Second National Bank branch has been robbed this afternoon and Greenville police are looking for a suspect, believed to be armed and wearing socks over his hands, who was last seen on foot heading west on East Third Street.

Our news partners at the earlybirdpaper.com report that the male suspect was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, a black or dark colored ski mask.

The suspect was last seen on foot, headed west on East Third toward Broadway.

The robbery at the branch, at Walnut and Third streets, was reported just after 4:30 p.m.

Union City police K-9 units have been dispatched to the scene.
