Kennard, a 2015 graduate, set a number of school records. He recorded the most career points (2,977), most career assists (470) and most 3-point shots made (263). His career points put him in second place on Ohio’s roster of all-time high school scorers, according to a release.
Kennard was named Ohio’s “Mr. Basketball” in 2014 and 2015.
Kennard went on to play two years at Duke University before being chosen by the Detroit Pistons as the number 12 pick in the 2017 NBA draft.
He made his NBA in October 2017 against the Washington Wizards. Now in his fourth NBA season, Kennard plays for the LA Clippers.
“Luke was a pleasure to coach as he was a great teammate and a great ambassador for our program on and off the court,” Brian Bales, Franklin Athletic Director and Boys Basketball coach said.
