Firefighters from Clark County, Greene County, and Miami County were dispatched to the 11500 block of Gerlaugh Road on reports of a house, Clark County Dispatch confirmed.

When firefighters arrived, they reported black smoke emanating from the front of the house and consequently upgraded the fire to a working fire, according to initial traffic across emergency scanners.

A cardboard box was reportedly inside an oven, which caught fire. The fire was then seen coming out of the front of the house, according to emergency responders at the scene over scanners.

It is currently unknown if the fire started in the oven spread to the rest of the house. The damage’s extent was also unknown.

It is currently unknown if anyone was injured during the incident or if the house was occupied. However, medics were called to the scene as part of protocol involving a fire at a residential structure.
