Bethel Township — Firefighters responded to reports of a house fire Saturday just before 4:30 p.m. on the first block of Oaklawn Drive.
Bethel Twp. Fire crews worked to extinguish the “heavy fire” which Fire Chief Jacob King said was located in the basement.
There were five occupants of the home, including teenagers, who had all made it out safely before crews arrived.
Mutual aid was requested from New Carlisle, Bethel Twp. in Miami County, Fairborn, Enon, Mad River Twp., and Wright Patterson Airforce base to help extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the possible cause of the fire was from a propane tank heater, according to Chief Jacob King.
The Red Cross has been called for the occupants of the home as a precaution.
