Fire causes $30-$40K in damages to Fairborn building

UPDATE @7:15 a.m.

Fire officials said a fire at Premier Energy Services was contained to an office space.

Additional resources were requested to the scene due to lack of hydrants in the area. About 1,800 feet of hose was down on the ground to fight the blaze, officials said. The building sustained an estimated $30,000 to $40,000 in damages.

The fire remains under investigation.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters in Fairborn are on the scene of a structure fire in the area of State Route 444 and Intrastate Drive.

Crews were first dispatched around 5:20 a.m. after a passerby reported smoke in the area. Firefighters soon found smoke coming from a metal building.

Dispatchers said Rt. 444 is restricted in the area due to fire hoses in the roadway, but traffic is still able to move through the scene.
