KETTERING — The JV and Varsity girls basketball teams are currently in quarantine after a player on an opposing team they scrimmaged last week tested positive for COVID-19.
“All JV and Varsity Girls Basketball players who participated in the scrimmage on Nov. 10 are being asked to self-quarantine (form school and basketball) for 14 days from the date of the scrimmage,” a letter sent today to athlete’s families read.

Players are permitted to resume practice on Nov. 25 and return to in-person schooling on Nov. 30.
Fairmont scrimmaged against Bellbrook on Nov. 10. News Center 7 asked Bellbrook how this case impacts its team as well. Supt. Douglas Cozad said Bellbrook’s entire team (15 players) is being quarantined as a safety precaution.
Fairmont isn’t the only local school district dealing with COVID-19-related issues on its girls basketball teams.
Fairborn City Schools said a number of its high school girls basketball teams are currently in quarantine due to coronavirus, however a spokeswoman said its district anticipates playing its season opener next week.
