A phony Facebook post inspired the Ohio Department of Transportation on Monday to post a “lighthearted reminder about a serious topic.”
That is the dangers of driving through flooded roads.
The state agency took to Facebook for the post, and poked fun at a recent scam posting that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg would be donating money to Facebook users for sharing a post.
The rumor is the byproduct of Zuckerberg’s recent announcement that he and his wife are giving $45 billion worth of their stock to the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, to support philanthropic causes in honor of the birth of their daughter, according to NBC News.
The phony post claims that Zuckerberg is giving away $4.5 million to 1,000 Facebook users who share it after tagging five to 10 friends.
ODOT’s message Monday said, “Your chances of making it through this flooded road are about the same as Mark Zuckerberg giving you money for sharing this post.”
The post has been shared over 4,600 times.
