PIQUA — Edison State Community College broke ground Thursday afternoon in preparation for adding its new career center next year.
Through a $3 million project, the community college is adding the Robinson Student Career Center to its campus. The facility, scheduled to be completed by fall 2019, hopes to help students work with local business and industrial leaders to integrate them into the regional workforce, according to officials at Edison State.

Edison State was chartered by the State of Ohio in 1973. Their current enrollment exceeds 3,000 students serving Miami, Darke and Shelby counties.
Construction for the 52,000-square-feet of space should begin soon, according to Edison State. A donation from the Pat and Thorn Robinson Fund of Troy contributed to $2.5 million of the multimillion dollar project.
