DAYTON — More than 100 people turned out Sunday evening to honor the couple shot and killed outside a Dayton nightclub this weekend.

The victims, Darion Harris and Ashley James of Dayton, just welcomed a baby boy two months ago, family said.

The crowd prayed for no more shootings in Dayton.

They were found shot inside a vehicle in the 1800 block of Lakeview Avenue, near Rick Jazz Lab. Harris, 29, died at the scene and James, 28, succumbed to her injuries at Miami Valley Hospital.

“I just want the violence to stop. There’s too many people losing their life,” said Harris’ sister Danielle Harris.

Harris said her brother leaves behind three daughters and his newborn son.

She described both victims as wonderful, loving people.
