Deputy rescues goat trapped on Miami Co. roof: ‘One just never knows what that next call will be’

MONROE TWP., Miami County — Deputies found humor while responding to an unusual call at a Miami County house last week.

A goat that was stuck on a roof prompted a call for the sheriff’s office to respond to the Monroe Twp. home on Kessler-Frederick Road Friday.

The responding deputy was able to get the goat to a lower point on the roof for it to jump off safely, which was likely the same place the goat got in the roof in the first place, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

“In this job, one just never knows what that next call will be,” the spokesperson said.

The goat later reunited with its owner.
